Siu Mei is the most popular Cantonese food in Hong Kong.
"Siu Mei" means Chinese roast, it includes Chinese Barbeque pork (Cha Siu), Cantonese Roast Duck or Goose (Siu Arp, Siu Ngo), Poach Chicken (Bark Tsit Gai), Roast Pork Ribs (Siu Pai Gwat), Soy Sauce Chicken and Crispy roast pork. A recent survey estimated that Hong Kong population consumed about 66 thousand tons of "Siu Mei" per year. A lot of tourist from nearby Asian countries will bring Siu Mei such as roast duck, roast goose, cha siu back to their countries for their relatives and friends.
The best Siu Mei is definitely in Hong Kong. If you are from overseas and you want to prepare Cantonese barbeques for your family, you should not miss the chance to learn how to cook Siu Mei at home.
In our Chinese BBQ and wok cookery lessons, Chinese Siu Mei and wok cookery recipes will be taught. You will learn all the important procedure to prepare the pork and poultry for roasting or poaching, which will determine the final quality of the food that you prepare. You'll learn the professional formula, so what you prepare will have the same taste as in restaurants.
The Chinese wok cooking recipes cover the important cooking technique in cooking Chinese food in restaurants. You can substitute or interchange the ingredient to create more recipes at home.
This is a hands on cooking class, students can realize how their mistakes during the preparation stage will affect the final product. Chinese roast involves marinating and preparation time, so wok cookery recipes are included in each BBQ lesson, so students don't have to waste time on waiting.
Class Size: Maximum only have 4 spots in each class. Availability of space is by first come first serve. Last minute application won't be accepted.
